FOREWARN — verify before you meet
Meeting people you've never met is the job. FOREWARN, included free with your MIBOR membership, tells you who you're actually meeting — from nothing but their phone number, in seconds, before you're alone at a property with them.
What it does
- Reverse-searches incoming calls to instantly verify a prospect's identity — know who's calling before you call back.
- Checks for criminal history within seconds.
- Assesses financial risk and red flags — bankruptcies, liens, and other signals worth knowing before a deal.
- Verifies property and asset ownership to confirm a "seller" actually owns the home — fraud protection on either side of the transaction.
Set it up (10 minutes, once)
- Activate your account through MIBOR. Your access comes with your membership — there's nothing to buy. Search your inbox for MIBOR's "Getting Started with FOREWARN" email and follow its signup link, or log in to MIBOR Central and search "FOREWARN" in the member knowledge base (the setup article sits behind the member login, so it only opens once you're signed in). Can't find either? Ask at a training session below, or contact MIBOR support.
- Install the FOREWARN app on your phone (App Store / Google Play — links at forewarn.com) and log in with the account you just activated.
- Run your first search on yourself. Search your own number — you'll see exactly what the tool surfaces and how fast.
- Take a MIBOR training session. MIBOR runs FOREWARN trainings throughout the month — find one on the MIBOR events calendar.
Make it a habit
- New inquiry from a number you don't know? Search it before you return the call.
- Before every first showing or first meeting, verify the person — every time, not just when something feels off. The whole point is knowing before the feeling.
- Listing appointment? Confirm the "owner" actually owns the property — seller-impersonation fraud is real and rising.
Pair it with the rest of your safety setup: the scam awareness page covers the fake-leadership texts that target new agents, and FOREWARN covers the strangers. Neither replaces telling someone where you are.
